Calculate a Wix inventory reorder quantity
Use this manual Wix inventory reorder calculator to estimate a reviewable order quantity:
planning days = lead time + review period + safety-stock days
target units = average daily sales × planning days
raw shortage = target units − on-hand units − confirmed inbound units
If the raw shortage is zero or less, the proposed order is zero. If it is positive, apply the supplier's minimum order quantity and then round upward to a complete case pack. Keep every input and adjustment beside the result so a buyer can reproduce it.
This is a planning formula, not a Wix stock-setting instruction. It does not place a purchase order, change inventory, or predict future demand with certainty.

Use zero only when zero is a true, reviewed value. A blank lead time or unknown inbound quantity should remain unknown and block a confident result.
Step-by-step calculation
Step 1: calculate average daily sales
If the rate is not already supplied:
average daily sales = units sold ÷ observed days
For example, 84 units sold over 28 days gives 84 ÷ 28 = 3 units per day.
Do not automatically use all historical sales. A launch, promotion, stockout, bulk order, or season change can make the chosen period unrepresentative. Retain the dates and units behind the average.
Step 2: calculate the planning window
Add lead time, the interval until the next review, and the safety-stock buffer:
planning days = 14 + 7 + 5 = 26
This means the rule is trying to hold enough stock position for 26 days of the selected average demand.
Step 3: calculate target units
At 3 units per day:
target units = 3 × 26 = 78
The target is a model output, not a physical count. It depends on the planning window and demand assumption.
Step 4: subtract stock and inbound
If 20 units are on hand and 12 are confirmed inbound:
raw shortage = 78 − 20 − 12 = 46
Keep the inbound order reference and expected date. If it arrives after the relevant window, it may not qualify.
Step 5: apply MOQ
If MOQ is 24, a shortage of 46 is already above it. If the shortage were 10, the order candidate would rise to 24. Apply MOQ only when the raw shortage is positive; it should not force an order when no shortage exists.
Step 6: round to the case pack
If the case pack is 12, 46 units require four cases:
4 × 12 = 48 units
The proposed quantity is 48. The result should say that the raw need was 46 and case rounding added 2 units.

These examples are invented and use one simple rule.

Why SOAP-01 proposes 48
Its target is 3 × 26 = 78. Available plus inbound is 32, leaving 46. MOQ does not change it; case rounding raises it to 48.
Why CANDLE-02 proposes zero
Its target is 2 × 20 = 40. On-hand plus inbound is 64, so the raw shortage is negative. The MOQ must not create an unnecessary order.
Why BAG-03 proposes 20
Its target is 0.8 × 18 = 14.4. With 5 units on hand, the raw shortage is 9.4. Because an order is needed and MOQ is 20, the proposal rises to 20. That value is already a complete multiple of the 10-unit case.
These results do not say which item is commercially most important. Price, margin, expiry, substitution, promotion, supplier reliability, and customer impact are outside this basic formula.

Store the worksheet with the decision. Reusing only the final quantity loses the evidence needed to understand or challenge it later.
Sanity checks before accepting a result
Product and variant mapping
Confirm that the Wix product or variant maps to the supplier's orderable SKU. A combined product count cannot safely drive a variant-specific order without an allocation rule.
Stock timing
Check whether sales, receipts, cancellations, returns, pre-orders, and manual adjustments occurred after the stock observation. Recalculate after material changes.
Inbound quality
Do not count a suggestion, quote, or unapproved draft as inbound. If an order is delayed beyond the planning window, remove it or model its timing explicitly.
Demand quality
Look for stockouts, one-off bulk orders, campaigns, launches, and season changes. Mark the selected rate as an estimate and record the observation period.
Supplier rules
Verify lead time, MOQ, case pack, and ordering unit for the exact product. If MOQ and case pack conflict, confirm how the supplier resolves them rather than guessing.
Arithmetic boundaries
- Zero or negative raw shortage must produce zero.
- Positive fractional shortages round upward, not down.
- MOQ applies only after a positive shortage exists.
- The final positive quantity must be a valid full-case multiple.
- Negative stock needs investigation; it should not be silently clamped without explanation.
- Zero daily sales needs a separate slow-mover or launch rule.
Relating the calculator to Wix

What this calculator cannot model
The formula does not account for:
- seasonality and promotions;
- demand uncertainty distributions;
- supplier delay probabilities or partial delivery;
- substitutions and product cannibalization;
- expiry and shelf life;
- multiple stock locations and transfers;
- budgets, cash flow, or storage limits;
- price breaks and freight optimization;
- service-level targets across a catalogue;
- future products with no meaningful sales history.
It also cannot verify that Wix stock equals physical stock or that a supplier record is correct. A proposed quantity is not a guarantee of availability, sales, timing, or profitability.
Any automation built around the formula needs account-specific feasibility work, least-privileged access, input validation, idempotency, failure handling, an audit record, and explicit human authority before an external action.
